The home has a grand open living space, dining room, fireplace, a large eat-in chef's kitchen, large master suite with attached office, spiral stairs to an octagonal tower room... The Music Studio: No place in the region with sound quality and accommodates a 60-person orchestra. Designed by a rocket scientist to be acoustically perfect, then tweaked with six inches of organic cotton on the walls and sound columns. The studio is linked by an indoor catwalk linking the dining and living areas to the recording studio. A separate recording studio apartment for in-house sound engineer or musicians. The lower level accommodates guests or the recording musicians with its three bedrooms, kitchenette, large living space, and decks. This level opens to a live stream, multiple springs and 2 miles of trails designed and built by the seller, who is both an arborist and renowned landscape designer. Zealous for sustainable living, the seller attached 96 electric solar panels, 46 hot water collectors and a 13,000-gallon tank of near steam temperature to supply 2 miles of in-floor heat tubing. Produces enough energy to sell back to the grid. House is a "green" house; built with fast-growing, renewable resources, scrap wood bonded by non-toxic glues, and sustainable wood approved by the Forest Stewardship Council. The exterior is metal siding and sustainable pine siding. Low volatile organic compound (VOC) paints, made from natural pigments and materials such as clay that coat the interior walls. Repurposed engineering feat: beams, timbers, spiral staircases, doors, railings, octagonal tower room at the top of spiral staircase, pyramid skylight, acoustic wall coverings, electrical parts, boilers. No two doors match. Stairs: repurposed mahogany shipping creates from South American, beams and external wall coverings from recycled steel, granite countertops. Flooring is linoleum made from 60% recycled material, shingles on the roof are 97% recycled from car tires radiator hoses and post-consumer waste. The shingles carry a 50-year warranty and are fireproof and fade-resistant, look like slate, but are dense enough to reduce noise. The home's foundation are made from a product called Form-A-Drain,TM, comprised of 12-foot long sections of recycled plastic hollow panels; that provide interior and exterior drainage, and vent radon from beneath the basement slab and the foundation's perimeter. The foundation is two times more energy-efficient than typical framed walls. The walls are insulated with structural insulated panels, or SIPS, that contain six-inch polyurethane cores. The walls provide a high level of insulation based on thermal resistance.
